SharePlex

Zero-impact database replication and near real-time data integration

SharePlex is a replication and data integration solution for Oracle 10g and 11g and other databases that ensures business continuity while maximizing operational efficiencies. It provides a near real-time copy of production data without impacting your OLTP system's performance and availability. You can replicate multiple copies of data on premises, remotely, or in the cloud to:

  • Ensure high availability and fast disaster recovery
  • Minimize risks associated with migrations

  • Harness real-time reporting and data warehousing

  • Database Replication –Provides high availability for both active-passive and active-active Oracle 10g and 11g database configurations.
  • Near Real-time Data Integration –Uses change data capture functionality to enable delivery of data to structured and unstructured databases (SQL Server, DB2, Sybase, Hadoop, Greenplum, Netezza, Teradata, and more) for migrations, analytics, and business intelligence.

The following list of system requirements pertains only to SharePlex requirements that may be greater than or in addition to operating system requirements. Before installing SharePlex, users should meet or exceed minimum operating system and Oracle database requirements :

Memory

- SharePlex processes are now all 64-bit and can exceed 4 GB.

- Per process memory greater than or equal to 256 MB.

Additional Software

- SQL*Plus

Additional Requirements

- Recommend hard limit system file descriptors setting of a min. of 1024 or higher, as system permits.

- The Oracle database must have at least the minimum level of supplemental logging enabled.
